Master technician Mikaela Shiffrin is the great star of the women’s race. The 24-year-old American won the overall title three times altogether. She pulled of a very special move in the preseason. With her Super-G victory in Lake Louise last December, she joined a pretty elite club: Shiffrin is only the seventh athlete to win the race in all five disciplines. In the current season, one without any major event, she can go on to top Tina Maze’s scoring record (2414 points).
